I received a Crosman 2200 recently with a wobbly butt stock.
Not an uncommon occurrence.
Typically indicates cracked or broken "clevis" ears inside the receiver.
I have a pretty effective fox for those.......
But.............
This one was different.
The loading port side clevis ear had broken off, and taken part of the flange that mates with the receiver with it..........NOT good......
Both ears were cracked as well.
So, I set about doing the ultra repair.
I did my U-bracket repairs to the clevis ears, then machined a tube to span both ears.
I then cut a mold out of wood to fit over the end of the stock.
Before molding using Marine-Tex, I bead blasted the area to give the MT something to bite to.
I wrapped the tang in waxed paper to allow the mold to release.
Slipped the mold over it and filled with Marine-Tex epoxy putty.
Removed the mold and trimmed to fit.
In the last photo you can see a crack at about 10:00 that slices thru the flange.
The flange broke off at that point down to the bottom of the mounting tang.
This necessitated that the putty be cast over the front of the flange to hold it in position.
Maybe I put too much thought and effort into stuff, but, I'm retired, so..................

You can lead a man to water, but you can't keep him from urinating in it.
