vintage hw 30 no serial number

My new old HW 30 has no serial number toward the back on the compression tube and in fact I can't find one anywhere. It has finger grooves in the stock, dovetail grooves for a scope, a fixed hooded front sight (no interchangeables), an automatic thumb safety on the back left of the compression tube, a plastic or rubber breech seal (though I don't know if it is the original one), no butt plate, no adjustable trigger, and seems a lot lighter than a contemporary one I had a few years ago.
Any ideas as to approximate production date?

Pretty sure all the HW guns were numbered. Did you look on the barrel near the breech block, maybe on its lower side?

Under barrel, that's where it is, thanks! It's 1199178.

shows it as a 1991.
That's cool. I didn't know HW did finger groove stock HW30s that late.

Sounds like a nice one, would love to see some pics! The slender finger-groove stock was the standard factory one for many years of course (personally I prefer the handling of these to the heavier later R7-ish wood), but not sure I've ever seen a late one with the "Perfekt" trigger and a safety. IIRC, the barrel went from 14mm to 15mm at some point too, so the action may actually be a bit heavier.
Happy to see a fellow east Tennesseean here - I'm just up I-75 in Knoxville.
