I like your idea, I think I see where you're going! If the trigger guard is made of metal, IMO it would look good in copper with the already nickel-plated trigger blade. Maybe also copper plating for the stock and trigger guard screws, and safety lever?
Trigger guard is plastic, but a coat of metalic paint and some lacquer should work.

If not done right, it would look funky.Cummings Custom Refinishing has nickel boron-finished some of my rimfire and AG parts, and they turned out great.Nickel boron is not silvery in person, btw, and they do make everything smoother, e.g., trigger box, breech, etc..
