Rebuilt and shooting nicely. Haven't chronoed yet. Currently making the missing front sight. A replica of a Barleycorn sight that was available at the time.
This is a second batch so the only improvement is the cast trigger guard without the tang.Has the original loading tap design. The new loading tap plate was added to what we call the Improved model and later Improved Model B. Missing from this gun were the trigger, trigger guard, trigger spring, trigger screw, mainspring, and front sight. The leather seal is still in use! I cut down a take off HW50 spring for it. Repaired several buggered screws. I have to take a few more pictures but here is a preview.
Some British terms: Grip = trigger Bent = piston rod latch or sear Foresite = front sight Rearsite = rear sight Piston crown = piston seal

Thank you, guys. The sight is finished and mounted. Just haven't had a chance to take more fo toes and post. The gun cleaned up pretty nicely. Really hard to find the pre 1911 guns with the duck bill or bayonet cocking levers in nice shape. The side button sporting patterns and front buttons are much more common.

Nice work! I enjoy seeing you take these neglected air guns and bring them back to life. I'd love to eventually reach your level. Experience and tools away yet but who knows, maybe some day.

Shoots Crosman 7.9's at 700fps with the cut down HW50 spring. Not twangy at all. I think I can improve that with a new seal when I get around to making some. But not too bad for a 43 1/2 inch rifle. More pictures with a new sight installed. The compression tube is mostly plum brown. Still a pretty nice 1906 "BSA Air Rifle".
