That HW 90 isn't a whole lot bigger than my Mike Melick Tuned D34. A little heavier. I can deal with that. Think I'll be talking to AOA by the end of the day.
Thank you, sir
Looking to buy a new air gun. Have setteled on one of these. Don't like the heavy weight of the gas ram, but can deal with it. Would like good killing power of large varments like woodchucks, etc. . Or would a .177 with heavy pellets do as good as the .22? Advise needed,Help.
Thanks for the advise Guys. I have a HW30 and 95, both in .177 and a Diana RWS 34 in .22. Looking for more power for woodchucks in my garden. The tuned 34 just doesn't seems to have enough power. Leaning toward the HW90 in .22. Mostly shoot off the bench. The 30 and 95 are good guns to still hunt with, so I've got that covered.
Mckie Hollow,Your best bet would be a PCP in .25 caliber. That would double your range.Ron,The HW 90 may be as or more accurate that the HW 95. However, it is harder to cock and gas rams are even harder to shoot accurately than spring powered guns. Why do you think that EVERY single world class FT hunter class piston shoot with a coil and not a gas spring?-Y
Ordered up the HW 90 in .22. Should get it next week. Top it with a Hawke Airmax 4-12. Now I'm almost in the power of my neighbor. He's got a Winchester/Daisy 1200 ( I think). what a beast. 10lb. gun with a 10lb. trigger pull.
What's a Sports Match Dampa Mount and what's it's purpose?
I thought the recoil action on a gas ram is straight forward and not a double action as a springer?? I used to hunt turkey with a 10 ga. which had probably 60ft. lbs.+ of recoil. A cheap 4x Tasco with regular base and rings was on it and never had a problem. I use the rings with the sticky tape inserts on my D34 and it seemed to work ok. AOA didn't mention the Dampa Mount when I ordered the HW90. I would of thought they would have made a suggestion if they're needed. I can't find any Dampa Mounts in stock anyways.
