1377 Valve Re-build Question

Son was gifted a late 70's 1377. Power was pretty weak, so I bought a "seal kit" on ebay to re-build. One obvious issue was seal between the barrel and valve.
Valve also had some corrosion. Question on older brass valves....are the new stem's made from the white polymer compatible with the old brass style valves?

I have a mid-80's brass valve with the brass stem - I'll be using the brass stem and replacing the seals and spring.
The new kits and valves have a stem made with plastic/delrin/somethingnotbrass - not sure when the change was made.

Yes, there is a tiny seal on that brass stem and I worked like the devil to get it out, with a pic, and tried replacing it with an O ring.
When that didn't work I turned down a nylon washer to fit, with a Dremel, and it did work for a bit.
When it gave up I ordered the newer one, Delrin I do believe. No problems since. JMHO.

I ordered the 1377 stem seal when my Maximus Hunter's stem seal broke after 5+ yrs. It's still cheapest to get it from Crosman...$1.30 each with $4.00 flat rate ship..so got me 5pcs so I don't have to worry about the poppet giving up between my 2 1377 and Maximus pcp😁
