Even thought I’m not in the market…post did make me take a good look at what’s factory-offered with the multi-named Stormrider.Archery Airgun Fun has some interesting already put together versions I somehow missed (if not for this post spurring me to look). No doubt about it, regulated has become an incentive for many people to push the buy button….and to make normally non-take apart guys with a non regulated version into DIY guys.Already regulated .177 and .22 for $265….a .25 regulated version for $268? Do seem to come LDC-less, the M10X1 thread isn’t uncommon (Buckrail makes a $20 version that several seem to like).Good to see some places are taking the Stormrider seriously, I just hadn’t been paying attention to that company as I should.---Nudge for DJ….there is a already made .25 version of the PP700 too.

If you want more shot count, setting the reg to 100b, if it's indeed an Altaros, and getting a CP2 hammer spring will net you at least twice as many consistent shots at about 15 FPE. Maybe even three times as many consistent shots at the "low power" tune. If the regulator is not an Altaros, I have no idea how to tune it.

It actually ended up being a bit too "hot" for those pellets and I had to detune it. Tuning it way down got my velocity around 500-550 FPS, where the wadcutters want to be, at least in my experience. I want to get a Buck Rail pistol grip to bring the weight down a bit and shoot it as a pistol more. But it's fun with the stock and short barrel as well. I like shooting at 10m standing with this setup shooting cast pellets or the few tins I have left of store bought pellets. It's my go to gun when it's too windy to shoot past 10m accurately. Another benefit to having it tuned down is 18 shots per fill, which is crazy for such a small tube with a regulator in it. At "full power" tune I'm able to shoot 34.5 grain cast pellets accurately, but that requires the long barrel and in "carbine" form. The only downside to the .25 cal Stormrider is the short 16" barrel. I wish Wes could get some that were at least 19" long. I would buy a second upper and not fuss with .22 pellets at all. As it is now my .22 cal makes more peak power with the longer barrel, even with my huge plenum. It shoots CPHP accurately at 50 yards, but I want to get there with my cast pellets. I've only used the .22 "hunter" mold a couple of times and it is still breaking in.

Oh my goodness, if you're into SPA/Artemis/Diana guns, stay away from AAF. Too many goodies and not enough money.

Well, I ended up ordering a .25 regulated Stormrider instead of just getting a regulator. Once I saw it, I couldn't resist. If it likes my wadcutters as much as the Bandit does, I might part with the Bandit.

You literally empty the air tube, unscrew the cap, insert the reg, and refill. 100% reversible. At this moment mine is set up with the super stiff factory spring, 150b reg, 220b fill, and six shots per fill. I like it way better with the soft spring and lower reg setting and I"ll be swapping back soon.

I'm especially interested since it's a G2. Did you end up getting a regulator?
Have no need of one….no intention of buying one this late in my shooting life...but a very strong attraction to the .25 Stormrider. Wouldn’t be the most powerful .25, but a lite weight/thin/easy to carry .25 with about 26-30 foot pounds, would have been a very interesting/effective small game rifle.Really can’t beat the “power in” (air) vs “power out” (energy per shot) equation, even regulated it would not be destined for a real long shot count….but how many critters do you really need to kill in an afternoon? We mostly want shot count for practice, target shooting, plinking.Would need the last 10 years to live over more than a new PCP at this point….but Airgun Archer Fun won’t fall off my radar again.

Did you end up getting a regulator? No, I skipped the regulator and bought the whole rifle. 🤣 If this .25 Stormrider is as accurate as the Bandit carbine then I will probably sell the Bandit. I don't have any plans of selling the .177 Stormrider because I'm absolutely smitten with this platform. Once my wallet recovers, it might get a regulator for it. I'm going to have to block Airgun Archery Fun from my browser before I go broke.
wise choice EdinGa, 30fpe should be easy on .25.
