Whisper fusion and GRT-4G

So my Whisper fusion mach 1 displays "random acts of incredible accuracy" I decided to try and work it out. There seems to be a lot of confusion and mis labeling of what's actually going on with the CAT trigger. Obviously the trigger is garbage, the single trigger screw is basically irrelevant and the replacing the sear depth adj screw with a longer had little effect on the absurdly long trigger travel. On my CAT unit the pull weight was not excessive but the nearly 1/4" of travel (after the faux first stage) makes accuracy sporadic.
I replaced it with the GRT-4G and I'm a little confused as there was no real improvement. This trigger removes the faux "1st stage" of the CAT but still requires almost 3/16" travel, not what I was expecting with all the reviews I've read.
The instructions refer to the single adj screw as 2nd stage screw, however being the ONLY screw and it's in constant contact with the sear there is no stage, it's still a single stage trigger just like the CAT. Instructions also mentioned a second stage bump, there is nothing in the construction of the trigger that contacts the sear other than this single screw. Or if screw is flush, the trigger itself remains in contact with the sear. Mine has no bump, nor anything to cause a bump. Turning the screw in reduces sear engagement and the travel slightly. However it doesn't resemble a normal trigger before no longer being drop safe.
While I appreciate the inevitable comments about tuning the trigger screw, my understanding of trigger mechanics is well beyond that.
My question is for the guys who found the GRT-4G an improvement.
How much travel do you have?
Do you feel a 2nd stage bump?
What's the pull weight?
Is your unit drop safe?
When you say good, what are you comparing to?
Maybe it's just my unit, maybe something obvious is staring me in the face, or maybe I misunderstood altogether but so far this is not the solution I was hoping for.
Insights welcome, other than tuning the screw comments LOL

Fellow member OleTomCat is the GTA resident expert on everything Gamo and likely your best for help with it.
Either hang on until he sees your post or send him a PM and ask if he has any suggestions that will help.
If memory serves, he's also from SC.

Ole Tom Cat is up on the GRT triggers also. He has installed GRT triggers in nine of my guns. None have a first stage. The pull weights vary from 10 oz to 1.5 lbs. With a Wheeler mechanical trigger pull gauge They're all bump safe. You touch the triggers the guns shoot.
A couple months ago I had one at the monthly fun shoot at Ole Tom Cats place. A new guy shot it some. I told him not to touch the trigger till he was ready to shoot. Scared him. He thought it was dangerous. The gun is an old Crosman Storm.
Last month I had my other Crosman Storm, sans open sight, a steel barrel weight, in a Benjamin T.H. stock with a GRT trigger and BSA scope. A guy shooting his 34 EMS field target gun shot the Storm. I think he would have traded. He seemed to like my B40 also.
I paid $25 and $35 for those Storms at pawn shops. They were so so but with GRT triggers they're great. They should be the industry standard.
Now I got something to do tomorrow. Take those gun out bump test them again, measure the trigger pulls and shoot'em.

I shoot a mach 1 ..lol
Gamo triggers. Cat... Cant, Adjust, Trigger
Sat .. Saddly, Adjustable,Trigger
They tout them as somthing, but ..lol. a lot to be desired..
I shoor mine so much its not even at issue just a thing i got over and shoot well.
Whats hard is shooting the gamo first then picking up the hw/r9. I get a few premature shots at first .😉
Anyway never did the screw mod or worry about a gtr for it . Just got over it .

My guns with GRT trigger, all .177:
Gamo Silent Cat
" Shadow 1000
" Swarm (now a single shot springer)
Crosman Storm
" Storm in a Benjamin T.H. stock
QB 58 side lever (sold it)
TF 59 Contender
BSA Super Sport SE springer
Remington 777SB (gas ram, soon to be springer)
Next for a GRT trigger is my Crosman G1 Extreme. It's in one of the Storm wood stocks. The way Ole Tom Cat and I adjust the triggers is load'em, point down range and screw in the trigger screw in till the gun shoots then back it out 3/4 to 1 1/2 turns, bump test and enjoy.
