New Barra Air rifles 1100Z Black and Camo PCP

I was text communicating with a friend about the Barra 1100Z PCP. He was on the Barra website and noticed the prices and was able to add one to his cart. It looks like they are available to purchase directly from Barra. After reading the recent articles from H.A.M. this air rifle looks like it may be a nice powerful (35 ft/lbs) .22 cal. PCP at a great price. Looking at the pictures, I see similarities to the Gauntlet generation one but with a new side lever breech. The trigger area looks identical! Does anyone have any information on this new PCP and whether it is available?
Thanks Gerry

Looks to be a decent budget PCP, I like the camo option, along with the side lever, question is are the barrels any good, and will they hold air
Guess Buy and try is the only option on new releases

They are definitely on my radar, but I'm waiting to see some reviews. The camo stock one looks nice.

I watched the Air Gun Detectives review with JC and I was impressed!
I am looking at picking one of these in .22 up in the future! Looks like a sweet gun!

Very interesting. Looks great and it has the old style AR 2078 trigger which I love. Only down side I see is its not regulated.

I watched the airgun detective video too. They seem like a nice budget rifle. And even though they are unregged it did seem pretty accurate and consistent.

I would like to see a string longer than five shots, just curious about the curve . Might make a nice critter rifle.

I haven’t seen much more on this one. The AGD video and the shot string that he showed at 30 fpe was with the HS cranked in 8 turns. That showed a descending string, no bell to it.
So help my understanding as a non-darksider (so far), to achieve a bell curve, one would adjust the HS out, giving less tension/preload on the spring. Correct?
Adjusting all the way down or all the way up would get you out of the curve as seen with the string he showed in the video.
What would the curve look like with it backed out to 1 turn in?
I have been stalking the dark side for a couple years now and may make purchase in the coming months. But I am really torn between spending a lot more or taking my chances on China or a Turk.

I own one unregulated PCP an Umarex Origin. The Everpressure system does a good job keeping the Origin consistent. My understanding is that in an unregulated pcp , at full pressure in the beginning it will shoot slower due the back pressure on the poppet and will at some point speed up as the pressure decreases and you find a sweet spot in the shot string if all you can do is to adjust the hammer spring.

These do look like nice rifles. Basically a Beeman QB varriant with a side lever and magazine.
The hammer spring preload is the only adjustment available other than playing around with fill pressure, so backing it out will create a "bell" shaped shot string.
For optimal performance, the shooter will tune to the "knee" of the curve. That is where the string starts to level out just before the peak of the curve.
Then note what pressure that takes place at and only fill to that pressure and refill once it starts to drop off again.
The number of shots you get in the "sweet spot" will vary from gun to gun and setup to setup. It might be quite a few with the hammer spring cranked out and shooting around 20-23 ftlbs, and will be less if the hammer spring is screwed in a couple turns at say 25-28 ftlbs.
If I didn't have a sweet shooting DAR Gen 2 .22 this rifle would definitely be on my radar.
Here is another review from Dana Webb.

I have a Stoeger XM1 camo thumbhole rifle. Seems like direct competition. I like mine with the optional affordable Stoeger bi-pod.
Chech it out.

I don't know if you've seen this thread, but I have some information about the 1100z in both calibers here:
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=199835
That does come with the disclaimer that I have a financial interest in this company, but figured you might find some data from my personal experience with them useful.

I ordered a .22 camo on Friday it arrived late today, like 9:20 pm , so I ran 5 patches through the bore and aired it up , the dust cover on the foster fitting is tough to get off but I'm sure it'll loosen up with use .it held air for 30 minutes while I mounted a scope,a Centerpoint 3x12x30mm and fired a mag at 15yrds to site in ,I was inside the house shooting off a chair so kind of wobblely , the gun was very quiet and didn't seem to be hitting very hard so I turned the HS screw in 3 turns that seemed to wake it up a bit. Accuracy was not bad , I'll chrony some strings tomorrow and update.

I got the chrony set up and fired a mag 10 shots averged 968 , think I'm wasting air so backed off the HS until I was at 870 , I was getting alot of errors so gave up on a string shooting JSB jumbo s that are 15.6 grs IIRC(it's not marked on the tin ) ,so aired up to 3000 and shot a mag at 35yrds , the wind was quartering at about 12-15 mph , I'm happy with the accuracy so far ,still need to adjust trigger and try a few different pellets.

I think the wind was causing the horizontal stringing maybe the wind will lay down this evening, and I'll adjust the trigger down to 2.5# and see if the accuracy improves, oh and I installed a ldc that I bought on ebay a few years ago , it's for a .25 but did a great job of quieting the report very BYF.
