Title: Daisy Power Line 1200
Post by: Rimrock on June 05, 2018, 07:18:36 PM
I just acquired this Daisy BB pistol. I understand that they were made for 1977 til 1996. This one is in pristine shape but it leaks when a CO2 cartridge is installed. I see that seal kits are available. From the diagrams it looks like there are only a couple of O rings and the CO2 seal. Do any of you know how complicated it is to work on?

Co2 opens a whole nuther world of accumulating.  Nice looking pistol there, and you got the whole package too.  Not overly accurate, but some of these cheap, basic Co2 bb guns are an awful lot of fun to shoot.

This is a blog that shows the disassembly: http://anotherairgunblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/derricks-daisy-powermaster-1200-find.html (http://anotherairgunblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/derricks-daisy-powermaster-1200-find.html)

All in all, quite doable in my opinion. Good luck!

The 1200 was made to resemble the Browning Medalist .22 rimfire target pistol (which was basically an improved Colt Woodsman).

A pistol scope or red dot sight will clamp to the barrel rib.

Cobalt,   Thanks for that blog link.  That should be helpful.

Very easy pistol to work on. It is a wonder of simplicity inside. Have to agree to disagree about the accuracy of the D 1200. All the 1200's that I have had shoot very accurate......for a BB pistol. That's given that you shoot a good quality BB. Crosman BB's are very poor quality. The sprew is very evident on them. I'm not a big fan of BB shooters per se but I am fond of the D 1200 for it's light trigger (relatively) and it's simplicity of engineering. Go for it.  :D

I have one and it surprises me how well it shoots.
And after talking with Cobalt327 the other day I found a variation he spoke of at a yard sale.
This one is all plastic, and the rear sight is elevation only. 3rd variant.

Looks like it's in very good condition- nice score!

A few more variations are the 1205, it's like the 1200 except lacks fore grip, 1270 is chrome plated, 1500 (1988 only) is painted silver.

I try to turn anyone, who will listen, onto the 1200. I have had better than 1/2 a dozen and sold them all off but for one 1st var. that's my shooter. It is just a BB gun but lots of cheap fun to plink with.

Stuart,
You have 1st variant?  Cobalt327 had said they had a bb sight window?  Do you have any pics?

Thanks

The early 1200's had serrations on the "slide", which was replaced by model identification and a warning (left side) and operating instructions (rt side).

My 1200 came in a blister pack. It has no slide serrations or inspection window, but does have a W & E adjustable sight. The serial number is 9K06271.

9 should be 1989, K is the month, either October or November. The reason is, some data bases say "I" wasn't used for the month- but I have several photos to document that I WAS used, at least on some models. I have very little serial number info for the 1200 and related variations. Mostly because the gun has to be positioned right and the photo clear enough to read it from a photo.

I picked up an earlier model 1200 at an estate sale for $10.  It held co2 forever and was like new in box.  They are a lot of fun and I was surprised at how powerful they are.  Mine hits 465 fps, passes clean through a steel bean can at closer ranges, and is surprisingly accurate.   (http://)

Hey Wendell,
Here are some pics of my D 1200 1st Var. As you can see, it is not in pristine condition. It was played with plenty before I picked it up. I resealed it a while back and it shoots great. Yes these shoot pretty hot. The fully adjustable rear sight is not a waste on these early 1200's. They really are accurate enough to warrant that luxury. The lot # indicates it was made in Nov. 1977. A cool older BB plinking pistol.

Thanks Stuart! Now I get to see the "bb port".  I'll have to figure out my manufacture date. ;D

M968...is the first digits of my older one

3L00...is the first digits of my newer al plastic one.

Dec. ’79 and Nov. '93. If I were to make a guess.

ETA- the model 1200 skipped the letter "I" for the month. If they didn't, there'd be no "M" because Dec. would be "L". Other models DID use "I", like  the 102, 103, 1201, 1894, and possibly others.
