Well, the wife brought home a couple of presents for me. Seems she told a customer at work that I play with airguns. Next day in he comes with an '85 Crosman 1377 and a '74 Crosman model 44 replica Colt in .177.
So I thought I'd show what can be done on the cheap or frugle (your choice). Now the 1377 was rough, but with about $2.00-$3.00 worth of aluminum, paint, o rings etc plus a piece of left over barrel here is what you can do.
First thing that had to go was the breech, made my own out of a piece of 6061 bar. I made a duplicate of the original, just longer for barrel support. Next used a left over front piece of 2260 barrel that I recrowned and polished the bore, made a scope mount (like barrel mounts better than grooves). Used the original bolt and turn down the probe, made an aluminum barrel support, flat top valve, resealed the valve and made a new stem seal out of delrin, flat top adjustable piston (modified Crosman cup seal), poly port seal, lighter trigger spring plus polish contacts, trigger shoe and much more.
Never saw any 1st or 2nd variant breeches for sale or copies. But when made out of metal I like them.
Well, there you are, a 1377 converted to .22 with a couple of modes and scope mount all for about $3.00 including the gun BUT not including the red dot.
Accurate and likes the JSB wadcutters, whats strange is the rear part of the 2260 barrel (14 1/2") went on another 1377 (also free), but that like one likes Crosman hp's.

Nice! Does it use a cocking knob at the rear?
