It's a beautiful sunny day here today, the temp is 65 and there's not a cloud in the sky! Seems like the perfect day for a rat to come sun himself and grab a snack at Paulie's! Too bad he's who ended up sunny side up!

I was working in the office when I spotted him, so rather than drag everything out to the grassy knoll, I decided to see if I would get lucky! I had been testing some FX 10.3 grain .177 pellets in the FX Dream-Tac Compact, so it was already in the BOG Death Grip tripod. So, I just slid open the window, made a guess at hold-over and let one fly! BAM! It was not Mr. Rats lucky day! I'm feeling pretty good though, that was a 50 yard shot, through a chain link fence at a rat with a body less than 4" long, shooting a .177 pellet! I guess some days, the stars just align...

Excellent shooting! If you could shoot dice like you shoot rats we should go to Vegas and run the craps table till they throw us out.

LOL! Yea, I'm working from home quite a bit due to travel restrictions and social distancing! I'm not complaining though, it's a great set-up!

Yea, I wish! If I went to Vegas, I could probably spend less by throwing dollar bills out the window every mile from here to there!Excellent shooting! If you could shoot dice like you shoot rats we should go to Vegas and run the craps table till they throw us out.

LOL! Thank you Randall! I'm glad I'm able to help a fellow air gunner! I was getting to that point myself, it's been a good while since I've seen any rats. When I first saw him this morning, I told myself to let him be and maybe others will follow. Then he just kept showing up, beating the tar out of my will power. Eventually, he wore me down and I took the shot!

Paul,
How is it that you have such a rat onslaught in the first place? No offense intended,.. just curious. Tree rats (squirrels) are the only rats that I have to deal with. Up under the car,... it ain't happening.

Well, technically they aren't rats. They are Eastern Harvest Mice.

Chris, We have a couple of acres of dense woods behind our house with a small creek that runs through it. The habitat seems to fit what they like. Plus, they primarily eat seed, and I keep the feed station stocked with a variety of bird seed, so it really seems to lure them in. You'd think that with all their relatives that visit and never return, they'd get a clue... :P But, they don't! ;D

Got it. The squirrels will eat some ear corn while standing over the just demised body of their kin. No loyalty among thrives I suppose? I have chipmunks too. Them suckers will kill an ear of corn in 1/2 day no problem.

Good work Paul! That's impressive at 50 yards especially missing all that wire. Thanks for posting the video.

Thanks guys! I sure hope he wasn't the last one, I live for this stuff! ;D

That's great video of acrobatics. It's back end was DONE and no leg movement musta severed the spine.
Doesn't get any better and keep feeding the short bus mice!

Paul, you have much more will power than me....as soon as he showed I would have let one fly! LOL!

Yea, I saw that too, I'm guessing it did sever his spinal cord. I'm sure it took out some vitals also, because he sure didn't last long after the shot.

I don't know about that, I did shoot him the first day he showed up! If he hadn't kept coming out and flaunting his presence, it would have been easier to let it go for a day or two!
Man I sure hope it wasn't the (last) tour guide! ;D ;D ;D
I sure hope not, spring is just starting, I'm hoping for a steady stream of victims re... patrons! ;D

Great Shot! That compact dreamline must be accurate and you have to be too to make that long a shot on that small a target. I want a dreamline but haven't decided to spend the money yet.

You won’t be disappointed! If you go for the compact, stick with the smaller calibers, if you go full sized you should be good with any of them. My Dreamline Classic in .25 is producing 60 FPE, the short barrel on the Compact just doesn’t make as much power in the larger calibers. In .177 and .22 its tack driver and has ample power to dispatch rats, as is evidenced above!

Great shot Paul, I'm an old school skateboarder and that rat did an awesome 180 off the wall back flip grind and then the 360's Curly style on the deck, Woob, Woob Woob, yuck yuck yuck, ngaa aa aa, Say Moe..... :o :o :o ;D
