Title: A Regulated .177 Build
Post by: sixshootertexan on January 08, 2018, 08:42:39 PM
I wanted a rifle that I could give the guys in the shooting match section a run for their money. I looked at a lot of different makers and tried to make a rifle with some of the best features and each one.
Here are the specs.
Lothar Walther barrel in .177 19" long
Timney trigger for a 1903 Springfield set at 1 pound
Boyds Featherweight Thumbhole stock in Sky Blue limited run Ripple Laminate
Ninja Pro V2 SHP Regulator set at 1300psi
UTG Leapers Accushot 3-12x44 Compact scope
Air tube, breech and lower is 7075 aluminium
Air tube has a working pressure of 4600 psi (I'll never fill that high)
Air Arms 8.4 pellets @ 820FPS
60 shots on a 3000psi fill.
Weight 10 pounds with scope

Lower  with trigger and reg

While I was having the aluminum anodized I install a carbon fiber tube 16mmx20mm

After I got the air tube back I sent it and the shroud to the hydrodipper and had them covered in a carbon fiber.

Pictures did not turn out to good I'll take some more this weekend, along with a shot string and target.

Ok I recrowned the barrel. I didn't like the way it looked. I did something wrong it's not shooting as good as last time. The velocity changed on me. I only took the upper portion apart but the FPS went up for some reason. I know it likes 800-820 fps it was hitting as high as 849.  Maybe it was the baffles removed. Could be just breaking in after the anodizing.
Anyways made a video and a spread sheet.

I wish I had your skills!!!  I would love to build something very similar, but with the lower being able to mount a breech made for a disco... I have a custom side lever breech, not a normal breech...  *sigh* one of these days!

How did you add a Remington style safety to the Springfield's trigger?
NVM, I did a quick search.  I didn't know you could order a Timney trigger for a Springfield w/a safety...  ::)
