ok, finally got to ace hdwe. and as expected i found a spring for $.75 a perfect i.d. and a little stiffer than the factory spring. i trimmed it 1/16-3/32 longer than the factory spring and mechanism works the air valve perfectly now. i also made a nut like marty showed as a spacer and that worked too with the factory spring. i am gonna go with the new spring. if anyone has any interest i can get the part number of the spring next time i am at ace. now back to the original plan to see how it shoots with the arrow shaft.
1. ....shot one group and it was not good at maybe an inch but only at 30 feet....2. ...then i will start playing with some king of mid barrel support....
There is no way the straw barrel will line up correctly with the muzzle end of the shroud unless you modify the front sight/housing.
hi marty, after playing around with the arrow shaft on the straw barrel i see that if you stop the arrow shaft about 1'' from the muzzle the whole assembly can be slid back into the shroud with no mods to the plastic end [sight, muzzle] of the shroud. any down side to this that you know of?
