Post by: Trad on January 11, 2019, 10:25:24 AM
Received a phone call from Troy yesterday. He said he was glad I called, because while he was dealing with family situation out of state ,there was a accident with his phone and he lost his list of contacts. Just a heads up .

Does anyone know if Troy is still filling orders? I placed an order a while back and haven't heard anything.

I ordered parts from him also. Manage to get him once through Facebook (I'd tried to contact him through his email address but no reply). He did told me that he lost all the contacts when he lost his phone. He told me that my order will be shipped out within a couple of days and that was the last time I heard from him and this was on the first week of January. Tried to contact him through all channels again for the shipping info/tracking number but he went silent again.

After much thought here's my 2 cents worth. Troy did a great job on my Puncher Breaker replacing the broken valve stem and the rifle has stood up just fine since the repair. Also, his charge for the repair was more than reasonable. So reasonable that I sent him an extra $20 in gratitude.

Now the other side of the story. When I sent him the gun he said he's have it back in a week. After a number of emails asking when it would be done I finally received it back and in good repair......at least 6 weeks later, maybe a bit longer. This was about a year (?) ago. Later on I ordered his updated Quiet Kit from his website. Don't remember the exact number of course, but it showed he had a bunch of 'em in stock. LONG boring story that I won't try to tell in detail but I sent him emails and actually talked to him twice trying to determine when or if I'd ever receive it. The 2 times I spoke with him I was told it'd go out the next day. I also was advised about his Grandmother passing and I offered my sincere condolences. On both occasions the "next day" shipping didn't happen. I finally sent another email stating that if I didn't receive a tracking number or a refund the next day I'd be turning to paypal for a resolution. I received that tracking number the next day and my order came in a couple of days. The Quiet Kit did work great.

I wish no ill will to Troy but I no longer would recommend him to anyone. Dunno what the problem is but you don't run a successful business very long with poor communication and without timely shipping of your products or services. And keeping all your customer information on your cell phone.....really? ???

Sincerely hope you guys get what you paid for eventually.

Ed

Btw, he never acknowledged the 20 buck "tip" I sent to him.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the advise. I also did not have any ill feeling towards Troy. I just want things that I have ordered, pure and simple.

So far, after 2 months lapsed and after repeated emails, there is still no word from him. I might have to turn to PayPal for resolution.
If only he reply for any delay or whatsover - im willing to accept that.

You are definitely right,  communication is key for any business success.

Best Regards

Ozzie-You are a very patient man but IMO you definitely should be contacting Paypal NOW. Jeeze, two months and no reply to your inquiries.....That's awful. I'm confident PP will get your money back anyway.

I am going through the same thing. No response to emails, call, text or messages through Facebook page.  Just filed a dispute claim with PayPal.

Hi Ed,

I'am a very patient man. But patient also has its limit.

I have already text, email, message to his FB yesterday, where Im giving him a deadline until this Sunday to reply (I don't keep my hopes high), as I will bring this case to PayPal for refund.

Its really a disappointment for a man of his talents and gifts only hamper by the his lack of communication. Bummer.

So sorry my friend. I would but you don't/won't want to pay what I'd want for it...... :o

It's a shame about Troy because he really does do great work. Methinks he just has too much going on.  He does have a regular job as well and maybe bit off more than he can chew. Not responding to folks that made purchases is the last straw. Guess I was just lucky getting that quiet kit, finally.
Personally I wouldn't have waited anywhere as long as you before going to PP. It might take a while but they will get your money back.

That's a shame Steve but Paypal WILL take care of it. I'm sure you'd rather have whatever you paid for though.
Welcome to the forum! Great bunch here so don't let this bad experience taint your view of this forum.

Ed, thanks for the kind words. I do not sweat the small stuff anymore. Just take a deep breath and move on.  I feel badly for Mr. Hammer, he must have some difficulties in his life right now. I hope he can work things out

I too am experiencing some issues with communication lapses and non response emails. I paid for a rifle back in February and while I know he is having some difficulties, customers deserve more.

Unfortunately, sad stories like this are all too common.... The long-term survival of small airgun companies is a very small percentage....

Hi Ed,

You told me before "So sorry my friend. I would but you don't/won't want to pay what I'd want for it......".

Im currently using the Marauder baffle (7 baffle + 1 spring) and while  it does quiet the sound a bit, it does not really silent  the bark that much.

I seriously want it. Please PM me your price plus shipping.

Ozzie.

Thanks Bob.

Here's my experience so far. I'm still hoping for some satisfaction:

I tried to order from the Annihilator website, but PayPal wouldn't work, so I gave him my info via email.

The order Charged to my account on Feb 23. I was told it'd be shipping on March 28th. It did not ship. No responses to a few emails.

Finally got a response and was told it would ship April 14th and I'd get shipping info. "That's fine," I said, "I appreciate the update." Didn't receive shipping info. No responses to any more emails.

I am willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt, but I do not appreciate false promises/lying.

Hi Chris,

I understand how you felt.

Troy is the the creator of some of the parts that I needed for my Kral PB and no one does it better than him. Some of the parts is so exclusive that nobody else sell them. People as talented as him normally is very successful and since the demand is there, he can grow his business even further. The trouble now is that he not reliable and has a bad customer service reputation.

I wish he sell his stuffs by the truck loads to distributor/seller the likes of Pyramid Air, Airgun Depot etc. so that I can buy stuffs from them and chase them for delivery  as they will reply back even if the stock is no more.

By keeping quiet and not being honest is really no where to built a business. His name will be forever remember by this bad stigma.

I don't know this guy, but I'm trying to suss out why with all this information out there, people keep going back to the well of bitter water and buy stuff from him.

Hi Yarddog,

Could be because his good reputation as a tuner was very good during 2017 to 2018, based on the YouTube that I saw. Some of the mods that he did was very impressive.

And also could be because he have some of the unique items and custom made stuffs that nobody else is selling.

If he start communicating again consistently , I might buy from him again, albeit cheaper stuff first.

Update: After quite a few emails, I got an update from Troy this morning. He said he would be shipping the rifle today!

Update:

I received the tracking information for the rifle. It should be here tomorrow, so things are looking up. I'll be following up here or in a new thread.

Summary for now: If you buy from Annihilator, be patient, because it's gonna take a while. This has been a 2 month endeavour for me.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for informing and its good to know that Troy is starting to communicate back. Hope the communication is constant this time around.

I don't mind late delivery. Its the lack of communication and not knowing the shipment status is what I cant stand.

Anyway, Im willing to give Troy a try again and see if Im getting what Im paying for this time around.

There is a guy on one of the Facebook pages that was told his gun shipped in December. Troy won't return emails or phone calls.

This sounds just like another tuner that keeps getting away with it
