Scoping a Blue Streak

Hi All,
I finally went to the range a few days ago and have come to the conclusion that I need to sell it or scope it. It is a great shooter. I am a mediocre shot and w/o a scope a lousey one.
I have a Sheridan, racine, with rocker safety, and the black plastic scratch guard. I let a newbie to old American AR's try it. His first. He was in shock he could not believe his joy in shooting it. He also suggested glass, and his eyes are younger and better.
I will need an intermount that will not mangle it, and then thoughts on a reasonable scope.

Thanks

They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.

Just a thought, have you tried peep sights yet ?
You can get the Williams 5dsh for about $40, and if your gun isn't already drilled and tapped for the peep you can easily glue it on with some goop.
The stuff dries rubbery and can easily be peeled off of a smooth surface if you don't end up liking it.

I put Mac1 mounts on mine with UTG 2-7x32 pistol scopes mounted scout style. I have 3 pumpers set up that way. The parallax is set at 35 yards. Love it.

If you want to keep it original looking, I think I have an original Sheridan 2 piece mount at home.

I wear glasses and For me the target is a bit blurry just looking at it, but the peep seems to focus my eye and allows me to use peeps...I have a scoped 392...but actually enjoy my peeped C9A and 397P more..I liked the peeps so much that I fitted some of my 13XX/2xxx carbines with them......good luck

Here's one of my streaks with a scout mount. Important so you can grip the guard with your off hand while pumping.
If my streaks were pre tapped from the factory I wouldn't hesitate to mount Williams peep sights. Tried one out for some difficult shooting & it worked great. Plus it isn't top heavy like the scope which makes it easier to hold on point. For hunting I only use my scope mount pumpers.

Here’s a vote for a peep sight. My shooting eye has had cataract surgery so that lense is fixed and can’t focus. Open sites are very difficult, but a peep sight works wonders and restores the fun of sight shooting.

I have mine scoped with the new style benji mounts, and shimmed up the space between the mount and barrel with thin strips of heavy rubber , holds fast , doesn't bind at the barrel / compression tube, and I can slip my fingers between the scope mount to apply proper pumping pressures, to avoid stress on the brazed barrel/tube area.

I have a peep on my dan.
Took off he rer sight.
I have cataract (thank you, taxpayers) in both eyes.
20/20 distant in both eyes.
Not license for driving either.
Scope is not good for me because the stock is too low..

I have a few that are scoped . I liked all of them just fine but they take a little getting used to. Not the same as a standard, scoped rifle.

I prefer a scope mounted in the conventional position, close to the eye. I have no trouble pumping, the technique just has to be adjusted. This Streak is scoped using an original Sheridan intermount. The current B272 mounts work just as well.

My 1968 Steroid Blue Streak was drilled & tapped for the Williams peep.
It's perfect for hunting.
I also have a 1967 Blue Streak that I have no problem shooting with iron sights.

I have my 1974 Sheridan scoped. I like the low mount, but it is a bit more difficult to cock. - Arlan

We have Sheridans set up with original sights, one with a peep, one with a scope and even one with a red dot. Pros and cons for every setup, so really a personal choice. All in all, though, I think the peep is the best compromise. That said, make no mistake, Sheridans have enough accuracy to be scope worthy and, for that reason, our scoped Dan sees a lot of use.
