Very disappointed with the performance of the 340 N-Tec. Sat up my Chrony this afternoon to see exactly what it is doing. Best string out of 12, using Premium Ultra Magnum 14.3 grain, was Low 626.5, High 652.9, Average 640.0, ES 26.40, SD 9.74. Pattern was all within less than a 1" at 20 yards. I had purchased a used Benjamin Trail NP2 .22 from a member of GTA last week, so I got it out to compare. Shot 5 strings. The accuracy was not as good , all within about 3". Using the same pellets, Premium Ultra Mags 13.4 g was Low 764.8, high 781.5, Average, 774.4, ES 16.69, SD 5.56. To my knowledge no tune has been done to the NP2, trigger has been changed to CDT trigger. Talk about disappointed with the Diana 340 N-Tec. That is a average speed difference of 134.4 FPS. I have not shot the NP2 very much and am sure my accuracy will improve. I don't know if a tune would help the N-Tec or what. I like the Diana but the performance is not up to par. For the cost of a Diana N-Tec, it should come from the factory tuned! 12 strings and the N-Tec never broke 700 FPS. Diana advertises the .22 cal at 810 FPS, with no info on what pellet. The Premium Ultra Mag 14.3 has been the best pellet out of the 9 different pellets I have tried so far. Any suggestions?
This is Diana's entry into the gas-ram world. So, I am not sure what you mean by a 'tune'. The two I shot felt like tuned guns! Now, it seems to me you got a sub-FAC level gun there. IOW, set-up for the Brit market so they don't have to get a 'firearms certificate' due to being higher than 12fpe power level. There just doesn't seem to be a knowledge base out there yet on these new N-Tecs. Such as, whether you can even pump-up the ram in them.
What companies set as FPS is almost always shot with the lightest pellet they can find.
The support information and parts are in the process of being sent to Umarex. They are both aware of the problem and promise support, when support becomes available in the USA. Do other Country's in Europe have the same restrictions?
Slow isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're plinking, just have to be dead on accurate for a critter getter.

With your first part, it seems to imply that Umarex is aware of similar 'complaints', and is bringing-in higher-power rams? Is that what they said?Yeah, poor Germans are building the premier springers, and are stuck with 7.5joules, which I think is barely enough oomph to punch through a paper target at 10m. I agree with you, the guns are stunning to hold and have beautiful triggers.

They said tech info to address problems and parts are in the process of becoming available in the US through Umarex... but not yet
