If you've followed me any you have likely noticed that I like to try out a variety of cheap to midrange priced scopes (I just know there has to be a good scope for less than $1000). Picked up a used Mueller 8-32X target scope http://muelleroptics.com/mu83244td from a guy a couple hours north of me. I've wanted to try a Mueller for a long time and this one already had a Gaska Comma Sidewheel http://www.marmotmilitia.com/scope-sidewheels.html (and my PayPal balance just about paid for the whole transaction ).Mounted it on my trusty AR2079a HPA yesterday and spent 2 hours playing with it. First impression, lighter than my Hawke 6-24 Eclipse, brighter than my Eclipse. The Mueller is significantly brighter at 32X than the Hawke at 24X. Seriously guys, I have looked through (never owned but looked through) good glass costing well over $1000 and this Mueller's glass is easily equal to anything I have seen. It was nearly dark when I finished and I could still see a 30 yard target crystal clear.I setup my benchrest gear and target and sighted in at 25 meters. Only took 5 shots and I was drilling the 10 ring. Checked the click tracking by running the box test and this thing tracked great. Clicks are positive and completely reproducible. So in addition to BR I also shoot Field Target and for any scope to stay on my rifle it needs to range find as good as or better than my Hawke Eclipse. Well, all I can say is that I think I'll be selling my Hawke. I checked the range finding from 10-30 yards at 2 yard increments. At these distances the Mueller snaps into focus better than any scope I've tried including Bushnell Elite 8-32 and Sightron 10-40. There is no lash in either direction in the focus. Compared to my Hawke which I have to always return to minimum focus and rang going up, the Muller is accurate working from any range to any range. It doesn't need to be returned to either max or min focus before ranging a new target.Next I determined my clicks for each range and spent and hour checking click reliability going from my 25 meter zero to my max click range of 10 yards. Because I use a high scope setup most of my clicking is from 10 to 25 yards. With this Mueller to get to 10 yards from 25 yards requires two full turret rotations (1/8 per clicks). So bouncing around distance in the 10-30 yard really tests out the internals of a scope. The Mueller checked out great. So everything can't be perfect and I have found a small downside, but it has nothing to do with the scope. The Gaska Comma Sidewheel doesn't give enough room to range the full distance I need. For field target I need to go from 10 to 56 yards. I have a Gaska Comma on my Eclipse and it gives me enough room. However, on the Muller the same size Comma only gets me 10-35 yards. The Mueller takes more rotation to focus which accounts for why it ranges so well. However, this means that anyone looking to use this scope for FT needs to get a full sidewheel not a Comma. I'll be ordering a custom wheel as soon as my wallet allows.Yet to come. I still need to check the ranging in the critical 50-56 yard region. If the Muller performs well in that check I will completely sign of on the Mueller 8-32X as being the perfect Benchrest/Field Target scope for PCP guns in the under a grand category.Warning: this scope should only be used on PCP NOT ON SPRINGERS. I'll update this topic when I get to test things out in the 50 yard ranges. I'm also planning on using this scope at the Tennessee FT Match this coming Saturday and will report on how it does.

Hello,The scope is rated for springer recoil. We can only handle the warranty here at Mueller if the return shipping address is in the USA, otherwise you will need to check with the dealer in Italy to see if they will handle the warranty over seas..Thank youMueller OpticsOn 3/9/2017 3:23 AM, Pan wrote:Hello,I would like to buy the Mueller 8-32x44 for use on a spring air rifle for field target. Will the scope withstand the spring recoil ?Me rifle is sub 12ftlb with little recoil but I need to ask as I cannot see if this scope is spring rated.
