Got the 1322 2 weeks ago from pyramid, when it arrived I opened the clam pack took it out. My wife was standing by the kitchen table where I had been working on the lower receiver of the 1377, and 2240. She was so enamored with the 1322 I thought she was going to steal it from me, and she doesn’t even shoot.
First thing I did was lay it on the towel on the table by the other guns. I popped the right grip off, pulled out the spring and installed a new spring. She said what are you doing you just got it and you already took it apart; she just shook her head and walked away.
I didn’t shoot the gun I just laid it out on the gun rug I had reserved for it next to my range. Every time I go downstairs to the range I see that beauty laying there.
My problem was that I made a vow that I would not shoot any of my other guns till I shot 2,000 rounds thru the 1377. I finished that project up this morning and got the 1377 dialed in. I shoot with 6 pumps so that was 12,000 pumps this week, yes my arms and shoulders hurt like heck.
When I bought the 1322 I also got 5,000 Benjamin Discovery .22 cal 14.3 hollowpoint, I like these, and also shoot them in my 2240. These pellets seem to be front heavy and load nose first most of the time.
For you guys that have both, does the 1322 seem to be heavier than the 1377, seems like it to me. I noticed that the 1322 has a lot heavier pump stroke (expected).
The late afternoon light in my basement isn’t all that great for shooting, so it sometimes is frustrating trying to acquire the front sight and get a good sight picture.
Decided to shoot Quigley (yes I name all my guns) just could not wait any longer.
I put up a splatter target, my range is 10 meters. Started shooting with 6 pumps so the pellets leaves the barrel faster. The 1322 pellet doesn’t get downrange as fast as the 1377, but the impact seems to be more significant, he does packs a punch (seems to be equivalent to the 2240). I shot about 200 shots, and got most in a 4in circle, I adjusted the windage slightly left the elevation alone. I was totally surprised with the trigger, no creep, solid and fairly light on the pull. I did no other work on the lower receiver, after I put a 1,000 shots or so thru it I will adjust, add some washers, polish the trigger, and play with the spring tension.
I am totally impressed with this gun what a shooter. As I was finishing the session I shot a 5 pellet group on a clean part of the target, I saw that I was hitting right on top of the other holes. I walked up to the target fished a quarter out of my pocket, it covered the group, maybe I won’t mess with the trigger anymore.
I am very happy to have added this guy to the stable. Now I am kind of drooling over the M4-177.
