What's interesting about me that you'd want to know? I don't know.
I'll start with....
Grew up in Wisconsin - ran out of money 4th semester at the University of Wisconsin and the draft caught up with me. Wanted to have me come on down. I joined the Air Force (March 1965) Spent the next 40 years with the AF mostly in R&D on special programs looking for the effects of a near-by nuclear detonation. Flew on the ALL (the Airborne Laser Lab) and flew on Herkey birds catching deorbited film canisters mid-air and dragging them in the back of a C-130. Then on to flight test at Edwards AFB in the California desert working on all the new weapons platforms being developed and the old ones being upgraded. Interesting experiences and a wonderful life. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Married in 1967 - just celebrated our 50th
. We had two kids - Girls born in 74 & 76 - both born at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM. Now have 5 grandkids from one and 2 from the other.
Retired in 2006 and got involved in antiques with my wife and helping her as she does craft fairs in the fall and winter to help pay for our travels looking for other antiques.
Just got my 1st air gun right before I had to have shoulder replacement in November of 2015 and then the other shoulder April 2016 so didn't get to shoot until this last month. I really enjoy plinking in the back yard and in the basement but these new shoulders object to one arm cocking so I have to put the butt on the floor and use 2 arms to cock. The grandson loves to shoot with me as well so that adds additional motivation.
I don't know how much longer I'll be able to enjoy this as both my right knee and right hip are starting to give me problems and the doc DOES NOT want to do any more surgeries on me due to the complications from the last 3 surgeries (kidney damage)
. So I'm up for enjoying it as long as possible.
There - TMI? or Not what was expected?
