Hi Chet, welcome to the forum! My longer screw suggestion is not intending to make your trigger work, it is instead intended to bypass your trigger and force your gun to discharge so that you can safely start digging into it. What I was suggesting you do is install that longer screw and just keep turning it in until the gun discharges. Most people put a longer screw in that position because that screw does two things: decreases the amount of surface area engagement between the lever on the sear (shortening the second stage "creep"), and it increases the amount of space between the fat pin and the lever (creates a first stage feel). By applying upward pressure to the lever, you will release the sear and cause the gun to discharge.

Turning the screw in would cause it to fire.Ed

Hi Chet ! I'm glad that you now have a working rifle. What do you plan to do with the one that you have had trouble with ? Best Wishes. - Tom

Best Wishes. - TomThanks, Tom. I just sold the old one and shipped it out today. I made a killing on it too. A killing for USPS. They charged $24! So I ended up getting <$40 for an almost brand new Hatsan Edge (with a defective Vortex Piston - but that's just a minor thing, right Chet
