So, what would you do in this situation? I just received my "new" Ninja 90ci tank I won on Ebay, and low and behold it's dated 7/13. I was dumb not to ask for the date before I bid on it, and there were no pics of the d.o.t sticker. To me, a time sensitive item like this is not new anymore after 4 years...almost a 3rd of life is gone and need to rehydro soon. Return it or ask for 1/3 of the cost back?

Tuff one...
Was the bottle new as stated? If it sat on a shelf for 4 years then it's not really used...
On the other hand, the seller probably knew it was 4 years old, no pictures of the manufacture date..
I'd contact the seller. See what they say, might work something out.
I would not dispute in this case, buyer be ware...
Is it the PCP fill station with 3k reg? Or just a regular paintball bottle?

To me 4 years old is certainly not "new". I'd return it !

I watched for the same issue on ebay tanks what I bought mine.
Technically I would call it N.O.S. I guess, so not mis-advertised if unused and N.I.B.

He has issued a return already, good stuff. I'm asking if he wants to cut a deal for the lost 4 years...

We agreed on a deal of 25% off, everyone is pretty happy. My lesson has been learned, and hopefully someone else reads this and doesn't make the same mistake. Watch out for those leftovers!

That sounds like a great compromise.

Bill, he said that was his only one. I looked at his other items, everything from medical underwear to engine oil additives...so he probably is no hpa tank expert. I've had pretty decent luck on EBay when dealing with problems.

FWIW: When I recently checked on a local hydro test, they charge more for these paintball tanks with the regulator installed. Some suppliers Loctite the reg on. I took one off a AV 90ci bottle it needed some "extra" encouragement.

Good to know John, thanks. I will ask at the paintball shop if there is a price difference with the regulator installed...I guess you figured out why they charge more. Hopefully this isn't one of the Ninjas that start cracking the coating, but I think that was the black colored ones.
