What I from each and every NH airgun enthusiast that would like to have a law passed to allow airguns for hunting is to contact your State Senators & Congressman and ask them to Vote YES when this bill is introduced. I believe it will be introduced in Sept. and hope it will find enough support to pass. If it does I think it would be to late to go into effect for this years hunting seasons but could go into effect Jan. 1st 2018.This would be FANTASTIC for NH and I am sure it would also send a message to other states such a Maine to follow suit.Unfortunately I imagine like many other states it may not pass on the 1st time around but we need to do all we can to succeed.I'm talking to Crosman, Pyramid Air and Sig Sauer (airgun division) to see if they can join our effort and possibly send a representative to talk the day the bill is introducedNorm
Maine does allow for airgun hunting, however its probably best to be sure consideration is for the separation of airguns and fire arms???
Thanks Norm for all your work and keeping us posted
I also think it's best to start with small game up through the Coyote...going for larger game could be a tough sell to this state.
Truly, I am fine with having the big-bore airgun rules/regulations for deer sized game...I am just wary of uninformed law makers that might leap to conclusions that impede the majority of airgunners (30 ft. lb. and under) who just want to do small game or pest control. The larger and higher powered airguns that are suitable for deer sized game are not widely owned and it is a pretty niche market, while people that want to perform pest control make up the larger percentage. My idea is that if we try to pass something that allows deer hunting it will have to be very well worded...
I am concerned that the lawmakers that do NOT understand Airguns and the extreme wide range of their abilities, that we could suddenly have ALL air guns looked upon as 'high powered' and it could be a slippery slope toward treating ALL airguns as firearms.
