Is there any reason a freshly resealed silver side 880 should shoot just 590 fps MV using "lead pellets"? The pellet weight wasn't stated nor was the number of pumps but I'd have to think the gun was tested at 10 pumps and w/a medium weight pellet. I know both mine are 680'ish w/a 7.9 gr pill @ 10 pumps and over 550 @ 5 pumps (both plastic receivers, 1989 and 2016).
I guess what I'm asking is there anything inherent w/that era 880 that would account for the MV?
(ETA- this is a GB auction in case anyone's interested.)

I have no knowledge of that era 880s, but I did buy a used springer from that seller (Baker) and its condition was exactly as advertised. It actually shot a little faster than it was advertised, so maybe he's underselling the velocity to ensure a happy customer?
I also know from other pumpers that wear in the pump linkage would cause headspace to open up which would account for lower velocities.

I just recently did a complete reseal on an early 880. The valve had 1972 stamped on it. I just shot it over a chroney and it was doing between 585 and 595 fps with Cr premiers. It was a well used 880. Not sure what this means. Not an empirical test to be sure but there it is.

Thanks bhh and fuse. That pretty well confirms the gun in question is shooting up to par.
I appreciate it, Mark
