Good thread info (for When I might need it). All three of my Trail NP's (1st two returned due to canted front sights) had barrel lock-ups that operated perfectly with no-misalignment of the barrel\piston assemblies and all easily passed the tissue leakage test. Only the 2nd had velocity issues due to Excessive Dieseling (heavy for first 200 rounds) that took a toll on the piston seal. Currently, achieving 570fps with RWS 7.0g lead Hobby WC's and descent 10yd 3\4" hand-held groupings!

I recently had a Hatsan Striker 1000s that had the weak lock up issue. It went away when I chopped about 12" off the barrel. Just enough barrel left to put the muzzle break back on and butt it to the breech block. I also trimmed a few coils off the main spring. P.S. I check my breech seals with a little pile of baby powder. You'll definitely know if you got a leaky seal.

Yes over compression can happen just means you have too much bump try less its trial and error.

Yep. I found that I could not get the spring to the point where it was shimmed to a point where it would provide enough pressure to prevent air leaks. The original spring could not be compressed enough, or would reach maximum compression too early in the compression stage.
I'm having much better results with the other springs.
I'm glad that you found a hack that worked for your gun, though!
