I have a couple of crosman 2400 KTs, Beeman R7 and HW30s that I've watched smaller kids shoot off a rest with very little trouble. If I have to, I'll get a couple of cheap kid sized springers at a big box store for the shoot.Anyway the smaller kids will be permitted to shoot off a rest. We're also going to encourage the parents and the kids that have them, to bring their own guns. What air rifles do you shoot?
Go to your local flea markets or thrift stores and pick up some small cast iron skillets. I mean like the one eggers. Most sell cheap because they aren't very practical for kitchen use. The last forever, have a nice "DONG" and a pellet gun ain't gonna hurt them. Also, you hit a cast iron skillet with a lead pellet and that lead ain't coming back.... a steel bb might.
GET ONE OF THESE!

A lead pellet that strikes a hard flat surface like an iron skillet flattens out to a round, jagged edged, "chip" and falls right in front of the target.
