The plastic piece to prevent HW30s galling...

I sent an email to Richard at Krale to ask what if anything Krale has done to prevent galling in the cocking mechanism of the HW30s. Here is his reply and att. photo...
Dear sir,
Thanks for your email. Please find attached a photo of the recent Weihrauch HW30s cocking arm. The plastic slipper inside the cocking arm should be preventing the damage.
Met vriendelijke groet / Kind regards,
Richard Krale
Okay, well...the photo was too large to att. and I have no idea how to shrink it. Just be aware that it is something that they've addressed.

To skip the photo resizing upload to a free service like photobucket.com and imbed the link.

The manufacturer (Weihrauch) has a problem and the vendor (Krale) has to address it?
Krale sounds like a top notch vendor who will go over the top to achieve customer satisfaction. One must wonder why the manufacturer has not seen fit to address a known problem. I know, it's only a problem on some of a couple of models but still . . . .

I thought HW started installing this a year or two ago? I have a HW30S I got several years ago and never had the issue. I also got a 35 a couple years ago and it has no issues. The worst rifle I ever saw with galling was a new RWS350 which also has a 2 piece cocking arm.

I have a R7 (HW30) and it's smooth as silk. Where does this galling occur? I may just add a dab of synthetic lube in that area.

The 30 is prone to wear on the underside of the cylinder as is the 50/99 since the new fix with the delrin insert inside the cocking link. The previous link had a roller. These ones suffered more on the cocking slot with some cases scuffing the top rear piston skirt & inside upper cylinder .
The new link with insert & raised hump has shifted the problem, some need some material removing or the insert spring taken out, others have changed the insert for a delrin roller instead & loosened up the link pin in some that are over tight.
Both are great rifles & even better with a bit of work done.
