With about 700 fps as the lowest and about 800 as the highest, that sounds bad. Besides the average fps, you should consider the extreme spread (ES= highest - lowest); as a rule of thumb, it should be at a maximum of 4% of the highest, so - about 32 (when you are getting about 100).
As basic maintenance, you will have to replace the spring or the piston seal once in a while, so, you should have a spring compressor and learn about disassembling/reassembling the rifle.
Check the other pellets ES, but you probably have a bad piston seal. To put a new piston seal in place the best tip I learned here at GTA is to have a small cone to gradually expand it and drive into the piston head.

With a spread like that, you fried something. Also, forget the wadcutters for a magnum springer, or anything under about 16 grains IMO.

Good points. My 5 shot group of RWS Superpoints had a 12.4 spread, and a 24.6 spread with Meisterkugelns, so maybe the Quicksilvers weren't the best quality, so gave a worse spread. I need to check some more to see if it settles down to a consistent average. There probably was some damage done, but whether it was enough to warrant a full tear down at this time still needs to be determined.

Yogi:
"I'm over two hundred stitches, never more than 12 at a time. As a kid, the local emergency room kept my file, "on file""
I have no idea how many sutures I have had. But 31 surgeries, 47 days in a burn unit, six cornea surgeries, and about 20 other hospitalizations, and a broken neck (fall on ice!) with a very close call on paralysis, Last five years have been pretty quiet so I feel quite lucky to have made it this far. 70+
On the rifle, I read a post the other day about a guy who saw considerable difference between low altitude shooting and high altitude shooting. don't know if you take yours up into the mountains to shoot but there may be some differences there. I'll see if I can find the reference - but don't let us over-anal nitpickers over-analyse your problem. Just shoot and see how it does. Chrony data is helpful but holes close together on the target are more important....

Due its recoils, the 350 is a very challenging rifle to the shooter achieve consistent (repeatable) accuracy. If you really intend to keep it and shoot frequently, believe me, sooner or later you will have a spring compressor to disassemble it.
Once you have a spring compressor and know what to do, believe me again, it's much easier than you may imagine.
So, I think you should try to find someone near you for a first practical lesson about: a) to build your own spring compressor (there are several examples here in GTA); b) to disassemble/reassemble your rifle. A simple video of the first 'experience' could be useful as a future step by step reminder..
I have a 350 and there is a single trap. There is a sleeve inside the piston that goes outside the spring. Once you took the stock apart (btw, just 3 screws), NEVER try to break the barrel or you will damage this sleeve in a blink. So, once the stock is out, a wise next step is to disengage the cocking shoe.
As an advanced tip (it was to me) you may have two 'dumb' (shorter) pins to replace the ones that "hold the spring pre compressed" (instead just taking them out and leaving two empty holes); the dumb pins in place will avoid the chances that you may have a trigger unity unwanted disassembling. If/when it's the time, you may ask your practical teacher about this idea..

Hello all!
This thread caught my eye on the good old Diana 350. Years ago I owned 4 of the 350's. All tuned and all were great shooters. A true magnum gun.
I had to laugh on the recommended 2 drops of snake oiling. If you want to really burn the lubes out you might as well put 2 drops of lighter fluid down the transfer port. Lol Do not do this but it has been done.
Simple gun to tear down and do a clean build. Really after checking many guns a good tear down and proper lubing is a must. If shooting packed with the factory mystery lubes seal failure is a given.
Also note that Diana has several size piston seals. Obtaining them may be a challenge but the do exist for 28.1 to 28 .6. So take note of you size that is embossed on the rear of the seal. That is if you are replacing the seal.
I've owned the Diana 34,350, 48/52, 460, 54. All at one time and double up on both .177/.22. Fine guns. But the 350 to many is a picky shooter. I never at the time of owning all the Diana's had a problem shooting any if them accurate. As the old times know I even rebarreled the 34,350,48,460 to the LW .20 with great success.
Get U a spring compressive and tear into the 350 and reseal and light lube the gun. You will see a big difference. JMO
HAVE A GREAT 4TH!!💀

From various comments it sounds like this model can be a love / hate mistress! I can see that, but the gun seems capable, so I figure the biggest "problem" is the shooter. My test strings were shot at 4882' elevation and 75 degrees F (which probably explains the slightly lower chrony times than initially expected). Tips given by several of you are things I wouldn't have thought of, and warnings / instructions that will make future work much easier, so thanks for that.
Now to the big question: Several have recommended a tear down, sooooo..... please send me links to written instructions or youtube videos you've found most useful for accomplishing this. My biggest problem right now is getting enough time to do any of it, even getting to the range, so anybody who can give me info to help shorten the process would be much appreciated.
Thanks all. This has turned out to be a great forum for me so far, with lots of helpful folks.

As you see at the right upstairs, this exploded view provided by Diana is of the 350 'T06' (the newest trigger model).
I don't know what (other than the trigger parts) possible diferences may exist between this model and the previous ones with different trigger unities. So, once you know your trigger model, as a desirable first step, you should find the exploded view that actually matches your rifle; for instance, asking here if anyone has it.

AOA has the Diana 350 .177 full length for $199 right now. Does not tell which trigger but I would think this is a T05 trigger. The T05 can be mad to be just as good as the T06.
Big debate over the years on the T05 vs T06. For one wanting a 350 this is a buy. But I found the Diana magnum guns in .177 are very over powered. Picky on hold but once you and the rifle become one it is sweet. Cphp 10.3 and many heavies tame this gun down.
Trigger group model match the piston. One can take a T05 gun and change it over to a T06 by swapping piston and trigger unit. All magnum diana trigger units and pistons should interchange.

Mine is a .22 with T-05 trigger. Having shot nothing else, I wouldn't know the difference. The T-05 seems pretty good as far as air guns go. Definitely not a target trigger, but it's better than all but maybe one other air gun trigger I've shot. The rifle is hold sensitive, as others have commented, so requires a mental checklist of sorts before pulling the trigger. I'm not sure how well this would do for hunting, since hunting doesn't always present identical situations for every shot. It had a scope originally, but I pulled it off since I seem to do better with irons than the glass. Past 25yds that claim may not still be valid, but I haven't tried longer ranges yet, so don't know. As with all guns, experimentation is the rule when starting out. A tear down and "tune" might be a good idea right off, though. Especially since I had the detonation issues to begin with.

These magnum powers guns seem to do better in .22 with pretty heavy pellets. 16grains<

D 350 x scopes lifespan (holding zero) may be a very complicated chapter, with some new issues to manage. If you also had a scope playing in this beginning it would be a trap/mess to understand which factor is causing what..
So, from my perspective, is an excellent way that you are shooting with the open sights. You have a lot to learn about the rifle, shooter and pellets, and you will be much more educated and prepared to when the scope challenge comes.
I like to shoot paper targets, sitting, well rested, etc., just in order to know what kind of groups/distances the ‘team’ is being capable to; and do the improvements, when necessary. Then, when hunting you know that’s only up to you.. the good challenge.
Btw, the lighter pellet I use in the 350 is the HN FTT 14.66 gr, and it does the job for ‘acceptable’ groups to part of my needs (heavier ones for more penetration/larger preys). To each kind of pellet, you will learn about what ‘head size’ fits better in your rifle’s barrel – “never a kind of loose, also not too tight”. For instance, if you try the HN FTT, perhaps the 5.53 would be a good first guess to this one. This kind of pellet fine tuning may do a relevant difference regarding accuracy.
