XS-25 SFB Sighted In

It has been 30 years since I have put a scope on a rifle of any kind and sighted it in, let alone shoot one. Today, I put the Rex 4x32 AO scope I bought from Mike Melick on the XS-25 I purchased from him a couple of weeks ago. It took me well over an hour to get it sighted in. Just when I thought I had everything dialed in, the groups would go wonky and I would find loose screws! So much of the time was spent shooting and getting things tight. I will have to put loctite on the muzzle break screw. The barrel pivot screws, after an initial tightening, seem to be holding up well as are the screws on the scope mount.
This group was shot a little over 10m from the "bench". The mackinaw is covering a sandbag. I was shooting into a darkened garage which made seeing an issue. But all in all, I am pleased with the results and hope to get as good free hand as I was able to accomplish here. -- D

I purchased one of these a few months ago. And it seemed like the day it arrived the Hunny-do list spiraled completely out of control! So I have not yet really broker her in. The little I have used it I have been pleased. I think all spring rifles suffer from the "Check the screw" syndrome when they 1st come out of the box.

I have an XS-25 SFB on order.
Want to ask about the muzzle report. Is it loud in the .177.?
Good luck with yours.

Ron, I am not the one to ask. If I don't have my hearing aids in, then everything sounds faint. Heck, even when I have them in, everything sounds faint. I'll have to let others, who do not suffer from deafness, speak to this issue.
