I hope this is the right gate, if not, admins please move me lol I am wondering about the Sheridan co2 guns I keep seeing on Baker's website. Were they worth it back then? are they moddable for power now? I'm not really interested in getting one, just curious about the guns themselves.
I am always on the look out for a model F.But then, I do like my CO2 guns so it would make a nice addition.
Terry, As you know I am MUCH less experienced than you in the Model F. Heck, mine isn't even here yet! But I have been doing a fair bit of research this week. It appears the striker on the F is the same as used on the C, but we know there were variations in those throughout the production on the C's striker.A rocker C striker from the same vintage would be a better "test" part than a 392's. Now if you are talking a tang safety F9 then you might stand a better chance with the 392P striker being a donor to whittle on, thinking as long as both are either Pre-1995 or Post 1995 when these change to the cartridge valve took place. *Edit* one thing I forgot, I don't think they "grind" on the striker to lighten it. They "bore" the hole for the spring larger to remove metal (weight) and then install a Delrin sleeve to return the hole to the nominal I.D. as it was originally for the O.D. of the spring. I have also read the new style face seal is in fact white nylon to solve the cart sticking issue of the original black rubber.I may be way off base, and I am just being a parrot.... but wanted to chime in .... even if only to be corrected.
