being that the loading port is on top right behind the rear sight, my 4-16x40ao cp
causes limited loading ability, it is 14.7".
i wanting a 40mm AO that has variable magnification 3-9x or greater that is less than
6" from turret center to the objective bell end and rear focus eye piece.
what do yall recommend ? within reasonable price range.....
i appreciate your information.
thanks

I like the UTG/Leapers 3-12x42 Compact with side focus for my underlevers with loading ports close to the dovetail rail.

I am using a 4.5-14X42mm Hawke Tactical with a sidewheel and sunshade.
I have no difficulties at all loading.
But, I am a decrepit 71 year old curmudgeon, too!

Another thing to consider is raising the scope you have a tad with a dovetail to picatinny rail adapter. You'll need new rings too. This has worked well for me on under/side levers, and has the added benefit of reducing scope creep. It's a bit cheaper to go this route too.
I do have a UTG 3-12x44 30mm compact scope and would highly recommend that as a replacement scope if you want to go that route. I've also got the CP you mentioned, and the UTG is a very good upgrade for very little extra money.

Has the gun arrived? Have you tried loading with scope installed?
There are various set back and offset mounts available, too.

You may not even have to be concerned with loading difficulties and the necessity of a short scope. My set up is very similar to Frank's and I have no problems loading my TX200 even with a long Airmax 4-12x50 scope w/sunshade mounted.

got a CP 3-9x40ao and dry fitted it without the utg droop mount that should be here monday.
and the CP will leave me around 1/2" clearance of the loading port !!
i think my 2 problems are solved....

I assume the underlever in question is the 46.
I've never needed a droop mount for an under or side lever.
It is better if the front of the scope is behind the breach. If not at least tall mounts.
It's been awhile since I had a 46 , actually it was a Leverage, but it seems removing the front sight helped loading.
With some gun/scope combinations I have when holding the pellet between the thumb and forefinger or thumb and middle finger with the front of the pellet pointing toward the palm is a method when the scope is a little in the way.
It seems looking directly at the chamber helps direct the pellet to the hole rather than just feel.
Just takes practice.
