Yeah Guys,- The high cheek comb pretty much needs to be removed, but some folks have used high scope mounts to resolve.- The wood is Chinese Beech/Birch (I think) even though I had a B-51 that looked to be Walnut. If you sand down you need to fill the grain with a paste filler. My old B-26 (non thumb-hole) was very Balsa Wood-ish.- My .177 shoots CPL the best, not sure about the .22 yet. As some have mentioned, not every B26-2 comes nice out of the box. This is gun should be viewed as a Project Gun that can be easily upgraded with the Right tweaks and elbow grease. Folks not wanting to engage a project or don't have the skills may want to avoid .For those that do, this $80 gun can be 98% as accurate as a R-9, with about 75% of the looks.
I love it when you buy a project gun, because after you spend hours on it and it shoots boringly, annoyingly well... I can buy it.
Hey Mark,I've got a Hatsan AT44-10 (.177) fitting that description . For $350, it's yours................ .
If I had bought the B26 first, I would not have sprung for the Hw30S. I would not have felt the need.BobH.
I'm trying real hard to resist. I find myself rationalizing the purchase, which is never a good thing. The biggest rationalization: I've got 8 tins of JSB 14.3, and 6 tins of the 14.3 CP Domes (not hollowpoint) that none of my other guns like. That's more money in pellets, just sitting there, than the gun is selling for right now!Anybody had good luck with either of those pellets in this current crop of B26 .22 barrels?I had a B25 in .22 that hated both of these pellets (same manufacturer = same barrel issues with the B26?). My rationalization for the purchase goes away if nobody can attest to these pellets working in a B26. Thanks guys.
I was waiting on my scope before I started the pellet selection process. Up until now I have been basically putting pellets down range just to break the gun in. I've been using the 15.9 & 18.2 JSB exact. I'll try the H&N ftt next. I found the 5.53mm and 5.55mm 14.66 grain at PA. How important is that one hundredth of a mm? I'm a decent shot but I have to be realistic about my expectations.
shot a bunch more today. Seems the best hold is resting my hand as far up as I can on the stock. Shrunk a little but still some crazy flyers.
So must be me
