GAMO Raptor .22 making noise.

Hello everyone.
Happy Memorial Day.
Thank You to all who have served and who are serving.
I have a new Gamo Raptor .22. I have shot aprox. 250 pellets through it.
The last few shots I could hear a "dry" sound when cocking it. I hear it in both directions when cocking.
I am new to air rifles in general and feel like something needs lubed but not sure where or what to do.
I dont think any dirt or anything got in the action area. I keep it clean.
Thank you.

Is it like a metal scraping sound ? if so watch the cocking arm as it moves to see if it is rubbing somewhere .

It does sound like a metallic sound.
I am wondering if I could have bent something by cocking it.
I tired cocking it from the left and from the right and it makes the same sound both ways.
I will be home soon and I will try to get a better look at it.
Thanks for the input.

I have not taken anything apart, but, I have went over every fastener and moving part I can see. I cant see anything out of place no marks nothing loose etc..
I tried cocking her with the bottom of the gun facing me and using my left hand/arm I cocked the gun straight down. no noise.
I tried with the rifle bottom to the left and used my left hand again. and to me, it made the noise.
Am I just noticing normal operation noise? Is it getting broke in and making noise now?
And what is the proper way to hold a springer when cocking it or loading it?
Thanks for the help.

If you remove the stock you will be able to clearly see the cocking mechanism. Put some moly lube or Krytox along the cocking slot and see of that improves the situation. While you're at it, put a drop of oil at any pivot points in the cocking linkage.
Now put the stock back on.

Hey Roadworthy
I got the stock off and lubed the pivot points and the cocking slot.
I did find some debris around a pivot point.
I cleaned her, lubed her and put her back together and now no noise.
COOL!!
Thank You!!

i just bought one from midway at $111 and arrives by wednesday
some say the arm is rubbing inside the stock and needs lubed.
i was going to buy NP2 but phoenix was out of stock at wally world for $159 and i already have a crosman fire NP and not super happy with pivot plastic bushings having to be replaced with metal ones to be accurate.. so gamo it is.

please shoot responsibly! don't shoot papaya fruit with a crosman 760 and pellets like i did when i was 11.. back in 1986
they get stuck inside and they don't make a good sound in blender according to grandma her cousin said the papaya had hard seeds and she never seen that but tasted great!
may they rest in peace!

well the day after i ordered it.. the benjamin phoenix np2 went super cheap at wingsupply for $99.
however i can feel its lighter and stronger than the redtail, pivot has no play and the breach is lipped.. much better than the crosman fire np with loose pivot play.
the scope is bleh but works.. possibly drifting to right lower as its breaking in but good grouping after 6 shots to sight in scope.
30 shots later it went lower right but seems its settling now.
was thinking of returning and getting the np2 but crosman/benjamin has let me down with lose pivot play so why change it for a possible problem gun.
