Accushot 10x50 for field target?

I'm wondering if anybody has experience with the leapers/utg for rangefinding with the sidewheel ao?
I like the idea of fixed power and etched reticle. I realize the power is only 10 but I shoot hunter so only 12x is allowed.
So, does it range well? I have a leapers 3-9 x 40 with front bell ao and it doesnt range well at all (nice scope, works great but not the greatest for ranging).

I'll offer my comments as an FT noob.
First, you have to define "field target." In the hunter class, you may not use higher than 12x. For focus-rangefinding, most people think 12x is a fairly serious handicap as focus rangefinding at longer distances is limited. 10x is going to be a slight handicap over 12x.
In the other classes, there is no limitation on magnification, so the limited focus rangefinding of 10x is going to be even more of a handicap than hunter class.
Personally, I don't find the magnification difference for other than rangefinding, to be that big a deal. With a cheaper, variable scope, the advantage in seeing the killzone with higher mag is easily offset by the "dimness" of the image at higher mag.
Some scopes are going to be better at focus rangefinding than others, so YMMV, but I suspect that a higher mag fixed power (12x for hunter, as high as you care to go for the others) would be a better choice.
Now, if you learn to bracket rangefind, focus rangefinding is less important, so . . . .

While in hunter we're allowed 12X ... to purposely handicap yourself to 10x is "IMO" foolish at best.
Shallower DOF ( depth of field ) happens as magnification go's up.
Taking a hit of 2X will hurt your range finding via Parallax manipulation .... Period
