Needing some ideas

Hey guys new to air rifles here and looking into getting my first rifle. I've looked at all calibers and makes. So far these have caught my eye.
Benjamin trail np2 .22
mrod. 22
Condor SS. 25
Of course I'll want to eventually get a .357 or .45 caliber air rifle. My question is which would be good for a new air rifle user?

If I could only pick one, I'd go for the Condor SS.
Compact. Lightweight. Powerful. And should be accurate with the Lothar Walther barrel.

I'll second the vote for the Condor for no other reason then I know the others and I just got an Airforce Talon in .25 and it's a great little gun. Lightweight, accurate and high shot count - the squirrels I've come across with this gun have not lived to talk about the experience

Ok cool thanks for the advice. What's the noise like with the Condor SS? Backyard friendly? I've been reading about the mods available for this air rifle as well.

Unless you get an LDC, I'm going to say no. At least the Talon has quite a pop to it when shot. Not so sure about the Condor. I'm not even sure the Condor SS is quiet enough for backyard use, but I'm sure some members will chime in soon.
In fact, I have my Talon out right now to have an LDC made. I'm sure I'll be posting when I've tried it out. I really want to shoot it in my backyard so I can get to work on figuring out which slugs it will like...

You can turn the power down on a Condor, and it is a shrouded barrel.
But if quiet is a big concern, and it's biggest use will be in the backyard, I'd get a .177 Marauder for precision and quiet. And I would say get the NP2 Trail also, because you could get both for the price of a Condor SS, but I'd choose something smaller and lighter than the NP2 for a second rifle because the Marauder is a load itself.
Maybe a smaller, lighter, springer or gas piston rifle....or a P-rod?

Ok I was thinking the Condor would be pretty loud. Ok right now I'm trying to get used to firing a rifle and using a scope. Y'all think a .22 would meet those needs as well as be a backyard shooter? I like the Benjamin trail np and np2. I also like the Benjamin 392. When I'm able I want something that will work for bigger game such as hogs.

Gonna suggest the Benjamin 392; I have a gas ram pellet gun and I have a Benji. One I'll hand down to my kid's kid's and the other will probably quit shooting in a few years. I think it's more accurate then the NP2, too. Others will chime in shortly and give you their opinions, too...wait for it...wait for it...

A 392 is definitely louder than the NP2.
I don't think I'd go wadin around in the cane with a bunch of hogs with either though.

Lol I wouldn't take one of those for a spot and stalk for sure, my bow is better for that. Once I get a big bore air rifle I'll get and .357 or .45

I've seen a guy on youtube shoot a little one in the head from about 20 feet with a fast .177 springer.
He was in a blind and the hog was eating some corn he put out as bait.

Yes I have seen those as well. That's why I was looking into a .22 for small pigs and coons.

Welp...that NP2 is going to be a lot more powerful than a 392. And quieter.
Just takes a lot more practice to master it. And is much longer and heavier.
If you have good eyes, the 392 can be a lot of fun and is easy to carry around all day.
That Condor SS in .25 can do it all. Except be a good backyard plinker.

Ok cool thanks for the advice man. I'm looking into which can be modded to improve the rifle as well. I'm getting excited, can't wait to figure out what I want to order.

I'm sure there's some guys on here that might know.
The only well known place that I've heard of is an airgun and archery shop in San Antonio.
I know they have Field Target competition at that gun range off of Luna Rd in NW Dallas near I-35 and 635. They might have some stuff there.
