Yep, it's now 4 months old. I bought it new from PA. I chrono'd it at 710 fps with JSB 13.7's when it was a few weeks old. I didn't tell Air Venturi that I put 7,000 rounds through it but you buy these things to use, right?Recently I noticed that it was just as easy to cock as my R7. I guess that was OK. It was also getting very good groups from 20 yards. That was also OK. I chalked it up to the greater tube diameter and figured it still had the same, greater power, due to the greater swept volume. Having a chrono, I thought... "check it out". Same pellet, it's now at 480 fps. What the Heck!!!BIG QUESTION:(for anyone who is qualified to answer) Do I send it back to Air Venturi for some "warranty work", or should I take it apart and fix it myself? I am capable of R&R springs and seals, even with a strong springed R1, I think!
It would not be unusual for a factory spring to break at 7,000 shots. Many of my guns have not made it past 5,000 shots on the factory spring.
