I know very little about this anymore. Used to be, you would make a 3-view drawing (or more) of your part and the 3D module of the CAD generated a 3D model, which you would have to tweak. And then you could run all that data through CAM routines to generate toolpaths (for CAM-controlled machine tools).I know the slicer prepares the drawing data for the 3D printer, what are the steps prior to that these days?
