Check the stock screws to make sure they didn't get loose. Another member, Viper1357 had loose stock screws on his impact which naturally affected the accuracy. Also see what kind of hold and bench method he uses which took him a while to figure out before he got decent groups.Good looking gun with what appears to be quality wood. Harry

Hey Ken, nice gun for the money! I've had mine about 3 months ran around 100 shots thru it various brands and weights. The most consistent results came from Gamo Magnum Energy 15.42gr, this really surprised me as these are the cheapest pellets I have ( $3.99 a tin of 250 @ Cabelas). Is makes a nice back yard squirrel stopper.
Josh,I have only about 150 rounds thru mine, but like yours it is not hold sensitive. You're clearly a better shot than me, but from a sand bag I can hold 1.5" groups at 28 yds using a 3-9x32 Kruger scope with pretty much any pellets between 13.43 - 18.13 grains. I think I tried 10 different pellets from 13.43 to 21gr. However, this one really likes the 15.89gr Predator Polymags, 16.36gr H&N Terminators & 16.36gr Beeman Devastators (look & weigh the same as the Terminators). Those are 0.5" groups at 28 yds, which for me is outstanding. I started thinking it was about getting the right weight pellet, then I tried the JSB 15.89 and they were not nearly as good. Go figure - maybe this one likes pointy pellets. Might change with a few more rounds through it - but yes, I think it's a great value gun.
Scoped: I ordered some Piranhas to give them a try. thx for the tip.
I have a post up myself. I've had my Impact Max for several months now and have ran over 800 shots through it in that time. Mine actually came with defects but I didn't return it, learning to shoot accurately was no challenge. Mine is not hold sensitive, in fact, my shooting bench is nothing more than a kids wooden picnic table with a few wood blocks stacked on the end and an old drawstring bag stuffed with old clothes for a rest. I place my rifle on this bag, supporting the butt against my shoulder with my off hand and can group shots in a half inch at 10-20 yards with just iron sights. The scope mount rail is actually crooked, the top slanting to the left. I have plans to remove it and see if I can mount a scope directly to it. Even with the defects of my rifle, it is still a tack driver. Using just iron sights, I have accomplished a headshot on a bird at 30 yards offhand. With enough practice, this rifle will be one of the best you have for it's price. Don't forget to clean the barrel once in a while. Though I'm sure I don't have to mention that.
