Had a Daisy 717 back in the 80s. always enjoyed shooting and owning the 717 but like so many air guns for me I sold it off. Now, so many years later I happened to see one on an auction site, and I bought it. One thing that surprised me is the size. It is much bigger than my Crosman 2240XL.

 But, the main thing is the accuracy. I cleaned the barrel and oiled things up and went outside just to shoot some Daisy wadcutters at a target. I was standing and shooting offhand which I am not very good at, but the pellets were a cloverleaf, five shots all touching at about 10 yards!! Amazing .....

Of course they are not making them anymore, not likely to be made again, and the prices for used ones are hefty, but I recommend that everyone should have at least one. I hope that I can hang onto this one. It's minty outside, great shape looks like very little handling during it's lifetime.

I had a 777. For sure one of the ones I should have kept. They are just so easy to shoot.

I picked one up on ebay 717 complete with rear sight intact shoots 7.6 round nose winchester's at 388 like a laser not bad for 128 dollars shoot if a least once every day.

nice find. what is the outer condition? back in the 80s I lived in Marysville, and the Walmart there closed out brand new 717s for $20.00. I bought two of them but they burned up in an arson fire.

It's got some small scratches and some wear areas but pretty darn good shape I'll see if I can take a pic
