Ron, seeing how nice the birch looks after sanding has me thinking I might have to refinish the stock on the 753 I just bought! I wasn't too keen on the look of the stain on it, but the adjustable cheek riser and nicer recoil pad is what sold me on getting it. Waiting on shipping now. Can't wait to get it in my hands and see how the finish actually looks! But I'm thinking some sanding is probably going to be part of the plan for it at some point...

I think the grain and figuring has great potential.

You might have to sand it down to bare wood and use what stain you want, if any.
All of mine are just Tru-Oil with a light sanding to smooth it out in between applications.

The Dora repair / rebuild is complete.
All that's needed is the butt stock extension and butt plate.

I'll do the testing in the next couple of days.

I did the valve / O-ring replacement while I had it apart.

Here's a little more facts on the out come of this repair / rebuild.

Trigger pull is at 1.5 lbs.

FPS is average is 503.08.

They range from 483 to 532 fps.

They are all standard parts except for the trigger mod I did.
The one that has the highest fps is the FrankenDaisy that I made from parts on hand and parts
ordered from Daisy.
So, it has some new and some "experienced" parts mixed in.

It's also important to note that I'm shooting 7.0grain pellets. (wad cutter)

You might try this......
I found that when cocking if you pause at the top for about 5 seconds, you can add about 20fps to the shot.
The pause allows the maximum amount of air to enter the pressure cylinder before closing it and locking it at the bottom. A fast cocking motion cheats it of all the possible air it could get in it robbing you of fps.
I couldn't believe that it made that much difference, but for me it does.
