To adhere grips to a bicycle handlebar, we would spray them with cheap hairspray. Once it dried the grips were stuck. I believe this would work for your situation.
I have something like 28 Hawkes between a Sport HD that's been on 3 or 4 rifles, Vantage, Airmax and Panorama and haven't had that happen to any of them. I'm like Robert although mine usually stay on 7 or 8x.
I have at least a half-dozen Hawke scopes, mostly all the Airmax model and one or two Vantages. They all have impressive optics, great reticles and all have held up to any springer I have mounted them on. I think they are a great value; high quality for moderate cost. I even bought a pair of high-end Hawke binoculars last year after reading lots of reviews and comparing many brands and models.I'm starting to notice a minor difficulty with a few of them: the rubber grip over the power selector ring becomes loose and slides around instead of gripping the ring when making power changes.Initially, I tried a quick-and-dirty fix by peeling the rubber back and dabbing on a couple of dots of super glue. That didn't work. This morning, I slid the rubber grips off and applied a small amount of AquaSeal (urethane adhesive, like GOOP) to the adjustment ring and put the rubber grips back in place. In hindsight, I realized I forgot to carefully degrease the surfaces first by cleaning with alcohol, but it still seems to have been effective. I won't try putting normal twisting forces on them until the adhesive has set for at least 12 hours.Anyone else having this happen? I know Hawke has excellent warranty support but who wants to go through that kind of trouble for such a minor issue.Tight groups,BobBonus tip: To keep a tube of AquaSeal or GOOP from hardening before you use it more than a few times, put it in the freezer between uses. Warm it up in some warm water before use. You'll be able to use the entire tube without having to throw it away because it hardened!
