Use some soapy water and check for leaks at all the high pressure areas. Output hose and nipple. Even the smallest leaks have a large effect at high pressure.
I have a Yong Heng look alike or clone. Some say it's an vevor brand. Anyhow, first time filling my 74cf tank and it got to 4000 psi and will not go anymore. It still running and pumping. But 10 mins later still 4000 psi. So I thought maybe just takes longer at 4000-4500. So waited another 10 mins and came check. Still pumping, but guage still sit at 4000 psi. Both guage on compressor and tank reads 4000. Why wont it go over 4000. Wanted to get to 4500 psi. Does it take really long from 4000-4500 or something is wrong here?
If it's a Vevor, they are known for having the high pressure piston seal wearing out. Mine has done the exact same thing when I fill my 30 minute tank. I replaced my high pressure piston seal and it filled it to 4500 pretty quick.
I believe it's a vevor, got it for 219 free shipping on eBay. It came with 2 spare piston seal. Only use it once to fill my tank from 0-4000. If it wear out that fast gonna need like 100+ extras. Don't wanna be replacing seals every time I fill. I did order an new piston with 4 split rings, I hope it fits.

If I'm correct, that compressor does not have an auto shut off. I would certainly not leave it run unattended. Moreover, if it were mine, I would only fill airguns directly.Again.. I'm not trying to tell you what to do but, in keeping in the spirit of the GTA, we have an unwritten responsibility to keep all of our members safe with our suggestions and actions.

I've been contemplating doing the same thing.
Thanks guys. Found the problem. It was leaking, but very small. Could barely hear it. Test with soap and can see bubbles. It was leaking at the high pressure bleed valve. I took it off and use some pipe seal tape and screw it back and stop the leak. Am able to fill to 4500psi now.
