Webley Tempest/Hurricane disassembly

Hey all,
Got a question, I've seen the instructions on how to disassemble a Hurricane which states to remove the trigger roll pins in a certain order.
My question is this:
"Do you have to remove the trigger assembly if all you want to do is remove the mainspring and check the valve/gasket?"
Seems to me all you need to do is remove the dust cover, take the barrel off, and get the mainspring out the front end.....or am I missing something???

Never worked on that model but I would think just pulling the trigger would release the cylinder?
Not sure it’s different from older guns?

Steve,
Yeah...that's exactly what I'm saying. That video is the exact one that made me question removing the trigger assembly.
Thanks for the reply, hopefully someone can confirm.

Well the answer is no. Trigger assembly has to come out so the sear does not block it when you are sliding the valve out.

I need a spring for my old Tempest. I took it apart and found the spring broken and really should put it back together. Is there a good place to order parts?

I haven’t ordered parts yet, but I have searched for places in the past. Seems like all the places that carry the most stuff are located in the UK.
For example this website here:
http://www.airgunspares.com/store/category/64/465/WEBLEY/
You can also search on eBay. The sellers are also from the UK. I believe I have seen springs on there.
If your just replacing the spring there is no need to take the trigger assy apart. Just take the dust cover off and the pin that holds the front cap and barrel on.

Just a tip if you are taking apart a Turkish model. Start removing the pins from left to right and tap gently until you can see it protrude from the opposite side. The steel pins used have vertical grooves machined in on one side to lock the pins in place (UK models use roll pins so it really doesn't matter). If you see those grooves continue tapping. If you don't see them tap the pin from the opposite side to remove. The assemblers did not use any method (L to R, or R to L) for the pins. I found the grooves on both sides of the gun. When reassembling, you will have to reinsert the pins smooth end first. This tip is only to ensure you do not elongate the holes by driving the grooved end through the frame.
Do not grease your sear where it contacts the trigger or you may experience the barrel inadvertently unlatching and slamming back toward the gun after you cock it, bending your barrel latch and deforming the barrel saddle on the frame.
The instructions you find online on taking apart the Hurricane is good for identifying parts, but it does a poor job on describing how things need to be put back in. The sear spring is a perfect example, you have to make sure the end with the bend sits on the short end of the sear ledge, and the long end of the sear is sitting on the trigger ledge. Failure to do so will cause you to remove the trigger assembly multiple times trying to figure out why the barrel is not catching when you cock it.
