Sfttailrdr46:
Are there any limits to the magnification on the scope as in 6x16x42 or 8x24x56 0r 4x12x42

Sfttailrdr46:
;D I read somewhere that there are restrictions at the hunter class competitions as to the maximum magnification scope that can be used in the competitions and don't want to mount/buy an expensive scope that will be disallowed in the match

Field Target vs. Hunter Field Target
Hunter Field Target (HFT) competition is very similar to FT, but HFT matches are typically shot with smaller targets, and in the UK the max target distance is 45 yards (as opposed to 50m for FT). In the USA, under AAFTA rules, HFT rifles are limited to maximum 12-power magnification. A typical HFT course is made up of 30 lanes, with each lane comprised of a peg and a metal "knock down" target placed to simulate a hunting scenario. The peg marks the shooting spot and the shooter must touch the peg with part of his or her body or gun for the shot to count.

I also think it is 12X but from what I understand you can have any scope you want on your rifle and only turn it up to 12X. The other thing that is not allowed in FT Hunter Class is that you cannot touch the turrets and have to depend on the Mil Dots
