Flex Hone

(1/1)

Mpac:
Has anyone tried these flex hones I know they have them in different sizes and grit.Wondering how they would work for cross hatching the compression tube of airguns.Seen them in 400 and 800 grit.

CharlieDaTuna:
Flex Hones are extremely dangerous and should not be used in the compression chamber as they cut too deep and too fast even with low RPM.  :o :(

They can be used in the action from the rear up to the slot just before the compression chamber but even there, be careful. They must be a fairly loose but full contact fit. They are too good and cut a lot out in a very short order.  :o

In my opinion, I suggest that most people should not use them. I don't .... or I guess I should say I had various sizes but did not use them in compression chambers. I learned the hard way and it only took once.   :'(

Mpac:
Ok thanks for your input and don't want to ruin my gun .

MichaelM:
yup and to add to that flex hones do not do a good job getting all the way to the face of the chamber which can and probably will leave you with a "neck" right in the very front of the chamber where the seal lives most of its life.... which can/will cause all kinds of fitment issues
