More laughing material.
ronbeaux:
Not airgun related but fun just the same. My neighbor has a Honda Goldwing and wanted a flag mount. So I measured the luggage rack and went on a mission.
Turned .75 cents of aluminum into a $90.00 flag mount and learned a few things doing so.
Pete:
Nice job on the flag mount...
sixshootertexan:
Looks good. I see on your scratch pad the 6x32 thread size. Worst thread size ever designed. Be careful that size taps snap easy. Even in Aluminum.
Toolmaker:
Great work on the flag mount!
When drilling or tapping aluminum I've found dykem remover (solvent) works great as a cutting fluid. It keeps the aluminum from gumming up the cutting edge. I've heard kerosene works real good on aluminum also.
ronbeaux:
I used WD40 and went slow with lots of backing up. I could tell it was dicey once I got it started but going slow and easy worked.
