anyone make their own scope sun shade?
poomwah:
if so, how did you do it, and what did you use?
Mark 611:
what kinda scope you got? :P
poomwah:
nothing special, just a center point 3-9 x 32
pappa:
All you really need is a thin piece of pasteboard or plastic like a binder cover (you can even use a used breakfast cereal box), a pair of scissors, and a stout rubber band. Cut the pasteboard or plastic to the shape you want, wrap it around the front of the scope and put the rubber band around it to hold it on and in shape.
Whatever you use for the shade material, make sure that it is black or paint it flat black on the underside to keep any diffused glare from affecting the scope's view on the objective lens.
poomwah:
I'd rather stay away from cardboard, how about the metal from a soda can?
