Five Airguns Today
Methuselah:
Six if you count bidding on one. All of them needing work (if you can call it that).
My 1377 quit holding air and I cleaned it up and reassembled it last week. They sights wouldn't adjust enough. After some web reading, I figured it might just need better attention to detail during assembly - pushing the breech over some seems to have helped ... it (hopefully) gets sighted in tomorrow.
Next was the Daisy 880. It was never very accurate and got worse after it was dropped, lots moreso after hitting the buck rail moderator. It had cracked the adapter and was clipping pellets so I had removed it. That left the sight a bit loose.
I hand "scrunched" the shroud and put foil tape where it met the cutout. Barrel was filthy and crown dinged up. Must've been dropped at the factory. No rifling last half inch or so either. Nothing to loose, used grinder, screw (steel, with valve grinding compound) then buffing thingy with rouge. Tape near end and middle. Two rounds touching, third not seen had to have hit one of the first two again. OK, sighted in. Oops, forgot, also bronze-brushed it and pulled patches - hopes, oil, and dry.
Next up, Benjamin 397PA. Investigation. Some rough leade, no "transition" at barrel. Hmmm. It mangles Norma ft. Try seating newly purchased cphp, rodded, looks good, push resistance was lands, nice marks head and skirts (should have taken pics of pellet). Try for group tomorrow.
Got dissassembled 760 supposedly all there, wasn't, took apart valve, evaled rest. Probably needs both plastic receiver halves, they are chewed where the need to hold the tube in back. Nut for butstock is missing. Valve stem might be good. Yeah!
Next 760, 1979 I believe. New derlin because last try replacing rubber with an o-ring failed (months ago). Spun and pulled to score it a hair bit, seems to be seating. One pump for overnight and eval tomorrow.
Bid Sheridan E20 nickel plated maybe NOS.

Oh, I see what you meant in pm, no, it's just part of a very busy day. It's all my broke-&ick stuff I'd been meaning to get up and running.
Maybe move thread to back room?
Methuselah:
