RTV Solution For Any Leaky Co2 Airgun
hallwoo:
So, I got the Crosman Peacemaker 44 22 Cal on Ebay auction on last bid of $63 last 5 seconds of auction
everything works , shoots with great power on 22 cal pellets, .177 4.5mm pellets and buckshot of 2 BBs per chamber
get only a 22 caliber revolver pellet gun so U can shoot any airgun ammo in your arsenal
but it leaks with only 24 shots per co2 bulb and loses all the gas within the hour after installing a new co2 bulb
so, I decide to replace original co2 seal, but the retaining nut is frozen to valve body and the valve won't disassemble with normal hand tools
I'm stuck with a unserviceable valve body and parts are NLA ( no longer available )
so, only thing I can do is build-up a new co2 seal on the old seal worn crater area
first layer of RTV was 1/4 inch thick on side of co2 bulb let it set for ~ 2 hours
slowly rotate co2 bulb back and forth CW and CCW until semi cured 1st layer releases co2 bulb with no rtv on bulb tip but still wet
then apply another thick 1/4 inch layer and repeat above procedure
the new RTV co2 seal gets 48 shots per co2 bulb now and seems to hold the gas indefintely
not perfect, but now I have a Peacemaker that shoots all airgun ammo from the hip with authority at arcade gallery range and not a desktop paper weight
a 3800 psi pcp airgun only gets 30 shots on a charge
the standard 12 gram CO2 cartridge is 7,000 psi
the RTV is Pro Seal brand from the 99 Cent store for $1.49
Harbor Freight Tools has the larger 3 ounce size for around $5.49
U can apply this trick for any LEAKY co2 gun and don't have to worry about disassembling it
just have the patience to do it
Back_Roads:
Try a .35 cal. big bore that gets 10 shots from a 3000 psi charge ;)

yes, after I get over shooting from the hip arcade gallery range
too much work lugging all that PCP gear to Spenceville Open Range 90 miles away from Bay Area
