A simple bb gun target/ plinking box

(1/2) > >>

bantam5s:
I just came up with this today for my new 499b

A cheap sterilite plastic storage container with a window cut into the lid, a 3/8 wooden dowel running through with in my case a folded up old pillow case draped over it, and that's basically it.
You can glue a shelf across the bottom of the window for a place to set your plastic soldiers...etc, or you can affix some way of holding targets.
In my case I used a piece of an old yard stick that I got a large bundle of for $2 at a thrift store awhile back.

The clear container works great because it let's a lot of light in.

Thanks! That’s a great idea! I’m going to do that this weekend for the “basement range”.
You should be able to reuse the bbs also.

Nice job David..
I wonder if you move the yardstick up to the middle of the window would be better. That way if you miss low your shots still go into the trap.

That is a good idea.
I built it with the 499 in mind and haven't had such a miss yet, but that could solve one issue I've been having.

With 3 of the little wood squares set up shooting one will always cause the other two to fall over, but just one on each end and it's fine.
With a second shelf I could have 4 set up, or with 3 I could have 6 set up.

I'll have to think up a way to add more that are removable so they're not in the way when I occasionally want to set up a target or for the other ideas I have in mind.

I'm thinking of a soup can or something inside and a piece of cardboard with a 3/8 hole that you've gotta shoot through to hit it.
That should add a challenge and allow for something with a satisfying plinking noise without ricochets or BB's all over my hallway.

The options are open.
